Dear Howard University Community,

Thank you for your active participation in the search for our next president of Howard University. It has been incredibly exciting to see the great progress we have made on this important journey since it began in April. The Presidential Search Committee, with the guidance of our executive search firm Isaacson Miller, continues to drive the process forward, informed by the invaluable insights and input of the Howard community.

Over the course of the last month, we hosted 16 listening sessions with students, alumni, faculty, and staff to learn more about what you would like to see in the next Howard University president. I am pleased to share that hundreds of community members attended these listening sessions to voice their viewpoints, share the issues this person should be prepared to address, discuss the opportunities they see on the horizon, and describe the qualities they want this person to possess. Your perspectives have not only been informative and enlightening, but also demonstrate the passion this community holds for our beloved institution. To that, I say: thank you.

We are now ready to embark on the next stage of the search process. The detailed position profile, which was informed by our conversations with you and the work of the Presidential Search Committee, is now live on the Presidential Search website. Please feel free to share it with anyone who you view as a potential candidate.
