President Frederick at Podium

WASHINGTON (October 23, 2018) – As part of this year’s Homecoming Week, Howard University President Wayne A. I. Frederick is set to speak extensively on a year of institutional progress during his annual State of the University Address, Friday, October 26. President Frederick will deliver his address to an audience of students, faculty and alumni at the School of Business Auditorium, beginning at 12:15 p.m. The address is part of the University’s second annual Ideas Festival.

On the heels of the University’s latest milestone, a 21-spot jump in U.S. News and World Report’s List of Top Colleges and Universities, now the only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) included in the top 100 schools, Frederick is posed present a list of accomplishments, initiatives and future endeavors to members of the University community. Attendees can expect updates on key function areas, including University finances, admissions and enrollment and the Howard University Hospital.

“The State of the University will provide attendees with an update about the University’s financial position, enrollment, academic excellence, and my administration’s vision for the future,” Frederick explains. “This year’s address will undoubtedly kick off an active weekend for Howard. While Howard Homecoming, one of the most dynamic in the nation, is a meaningful celebration for many reasons, we must be equally invested in the future of this institution.”

All students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to attend. The Address will be available to view via livestream at whut.org and whur.com
