Ta-Nehisi Coates

WASHINGTON – The Howard University Cathy Hughes School of Communications is proud to host “Power of the Pen” with award-winning writers and authors Ta-Nehisi Coates, Nikole Hannah-Jones and Jelani Cobb. This event will be held at Cramton Auditorium, located at 2455 6th St NW, Washington, DC on Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m.

The panel will be moderated by Independent Journalist Anthony Brown, Jr., who is the brainchild of this event and an alumnus of Howard University.

Power of the Pen on March 5 at 7pm.pngCoates, Hannah-Jones and Cobb will explore the power, relevance and impact of today’s thought leaders, how the public views their work and how people translate the conversation into strategic action plans.

They are shaping the contemporary discourse with engaging narratives layered with context, analysis and an impressive depth of research that moves audiences to think critically about their respective topics. On Tuesday, find out in their own words how they describe their work, how the next generation can continue it, and how as a community we can strategize to capture our power.

This program is co-sponsored by the Howard University Association of Black Journalists, Cover 2 Cover Magazine and The Ida B. Wells Society in The Department of Media, Journalism, and Film of the Cathy Hughes School of Communications.
