Olga Osaghae Named Howard University Interim Chief Information Officer

Olga Osaghae - Howard UniversityWASHINGTON - Howard University is announcing the appointment of Olga Osaghae as interim chief information officer and head of Enterprise Technology Services (ETS). Howard University is currently engaged in a national search for this key executive position.

At Howard University, Osaghae most recently served as the director of enterprise applications and deputy project manager for the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. She has worked with leaders from across campus to launch Workday finance and payroll systems, as well as HCM. Osaghae will begin her service following the departure of current CIO Jonathan Piersol on July 2.

Interim CIO Osaghae will be responsible all aspects of information technology and digital transformation for the University, including strategy, governance, policy, budgeting, network operations, application development, information security and customer service. She will assume the role of executive sponsor for the Workday projects. Her immediate focus will be to complete the HCM and finance deployment and begin focusing on leading the campus through the Workday student deployment.

Osaghae brings more than 18 years of experience in information technology, which includes 13 years working at Howard University. Her previous positions included manager of database administration services, project manager, senior functional analyst and senior IT auditor. Osaghae earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Ghana and a master’s degree in management information systems from the University of Baltimore.

Howard University Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Tashni-Ann Dubroy, Ph.D., welcomed Interim CIO Osaghae. She expressed gratitude to Piersol for executing a robust strategic technology plan and for setting sustainable foundational blocks to the digitally transform Howard University’s information systems.
