WASHINGTON – Howard University President Wayne A. I. Frederick, M.D., MBA, recently sat down with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and alumnus Keith Alexander of the Washington Post for a WHUT special titled, “Howard University Responds to COVID-19.” The conversation shed light on the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic in Washington, D.C. and Howard University’s strategy to keep the campus community safe. Watch the video here.
“I’d like to thank the entire Howard University community: students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends, for their flexibility to adjust swiftly as we do the same to adhere to the government regulations that are coming out with new guidelines and restrictions daily,” said Dr. Frederick. “Every decision we make is with the safety and well-being of our entire bison community in mind.”
During the conversation, President Frederick addresses how the administration has made critical decisions as the government has amplified its guidelines for social distancing, learning about the first case of COVID-19 in the campus community and the decision to move online and plans for graduation activities.
The special is available to view on Howard’s Youtube channel and will rebroadcast on WHUT on Thursday, March 19 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
