Howard University Mourns the Passing of Student Zaniyah Griffin

Dear Howard University Community,

It is with deep regret that I inform the Howard University Community of the passing of Ms. Zaniyah Griffin. Ms. Zaniyah was a sophomore student in the College of Arts & Sciences, majoring and excelling in Biology. She was well thought of and respected by her faculty, who involved her in research projects. Additionally, as a resident of Wheatley Hall, Zaniyah was a member of the Step Team and had a positive impact on the Quad community. Her vibrant presence will be missed, and she will be mourned by friends and family alike.

Ms. Griffin passed unexpectedly earlier this week after a brief illness. Please keep her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Griffin, as well as her entire family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn her loss at this difficult time. Additional details will be provided as they are made available.

Excellence in Truth and Service,

Cynthia Evers, Ed.D.,
Interim Vice President of Student Affairs
