WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m., the Howard University Showtime Marching Band will lead the annual Howard University Homecoming Parade showcase of bands, student organizations and community partners.
The parade route starts on the Northwest D.C. main campus at Sixth Street and Howard Place. It will mainly travel along south along Georgia Avenue and north along Fourth Street, passing the LeDroit Park neighborhood, and concluding near the reservoir.
This year Howard University will celebrate its annual homecoming with students, faculty, staff, community members and alumni from around the world. The week-long schedule of events includes something for everyone, including the incomparable Yardfest, and the Annual Day of Service events.
Parade attendees are encouraged to sport Howard colors and participate as prelude to the Homecoming football game against the South Carolina State Bulldogs in one of the signature games of this football season.
The DC Metropolitan Police has indicated that the following the streets will close by 9 am. The parade is expected to end by noon.

• 2200 -2700 block 6th Street NW (6th and Girard Street NW to W Street NW)
• 600-699 block Bryant Street NW (Georgia Ave and Bryant to 6th Street NW)
• 400 - 500 block College Street NW (4th and College Street NW to 6th Street NW)
• 400-599 block W Street NW (4th and W Street to Georgia Ave NW
