What is one thing you do every day to maintain your mental wellbeing?

I allow myself 15-20 minutes in the morning when I wake up to complete the New York Times Spelling bee and Wordle. I also find any form of exercise to be hugely impactful to my mental health even if it’s only a short walk.

What experiences ignited your passion for business?

My passion for business was ignited by a job I had at Austin National Bank as a senior in high school. I needed a more positive path in life and the job helped me think differently about my future.

What keeps you motivated to improve in your professional and personal life?

My wife and my three adult children provide the greatest motivation for both my professional and personal life.  They have been paramount in my life journey.

What is the number one piece of advice you would give a Howard student who wants to be successful in business?

Commit to lifelong learning and be a student of the world.  Ensure the learning experiences go beyond your field of study.
