The official Howard University operational status for Wednesday, November 26, 2025 is EARLY CLOSURE. The university will close at noon for general operations. The operational status for Thursday, November 27 through Friday, November 28 is CLOSED. Normal operations will resume on Monday, December 1. 

However, some facilities and programs may remain open or have limited access. Please see details below.

Essential Employees: Essential employees must report to campus.

• Building Access: Some campus buildings will be secured and locked.

  Essential employees needing help accessing buildings should contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at (202) 806-1100. Physical Facilities Management will be available for urgent matters at (202)-806-1000.

• Researchers will continue to have access to research facilities.
