Spring Break 2025 Operational Status

Operational Status: CLOSED

Howard University's Main and West Campus are closed to non-essential personnel. 

The University will be closed for Spring Break from Saturday, March 1, through Sunday, March 9, 2025. The campus will resume normal hours of operation on Monday, March,10. 

  • Essential Employees: Essential employees must report to campus.
  • Building Access: All campus buildings will be secured and locked. Essential employees needing help accessing buildings should contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Researchers will continue to have access to research facilities. However, researchers must be aware that parking restrictions will be in place, and some parking lots will be closed.

  • All in-person classes: No Classes
  • ​Remote classes: No Classes 

 Health Services: 

  • Howard University Hospital: OPEN
  • Faculty Practice Plan:  OPEN   
  • Student Health Center: CLOSED   

University Libraries: 

  • Founders Library: CLOSED   
  • Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library:  CLOSED   
  • Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Law Library:  CLOSED  
  • Wayne A. I. Frederick Undergraduate Library:  CLOSED   

Dining: 

  • Bethune Annex Cafeteria: CLOSED   
  • The Market at Bethune Annex:  CLOSED   
  • The Market at Towers West: CLOSED   
  • Blackburn Cafeteria: CLOSED   
  • West Campus Dining Room: CLOSED   
  • Punchout & Chick-fil-A: CLOSED   

*The last day of dining service is February 28. Regular operational hours will resume on Monday, March 10.  

Other Services: 

  • Bison One Card Office: CLOSED   
  • Graphics and Printing Services:  Normal schedule from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Monday-Friday
  • Main Bookstore: CLOSED on Monday, March 2.
  • OPEN from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Tuesday, March 3 through Saturday, March 8.
  • Howard University Law School Bookstore:  CLOSED
  • iLab and ETS Help Desk: CLOSED
  • Mail Services:  OPEN  
  • Shuttle Services:  CLOSED  *The last day of shuttle service is Friday, February 28, at 11:30 pm. Normal service resumes on Monday, March 10.
  • The Office of Residence Life: CLOSED
  • WHUR-FM and WHUT-TV: OPEN  
  • Parking:  CLOSED Regular operational hours will resume on Monday, March 10.                 *All lots will be closed on Friday, February 28, at 11:30 pm.
