Dear Howard University Community,

Beginning July 22 through August 25, 2023, the Office of Parking and Transportation Services will schedule temporary lot closures for parking lot repairs and maintenance. The lot closures will be implemented in phases until all repairs are complete. Vehicles parked on lots during scheduled closures will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The following parking lot will be closed to employees, guests, and University vehicles, from Saturday, July 22, through Monday, July 24, 2023.

IMPACTED PARKING LOTS

Founders Lot (no parking within the gate)

Listed below are some alternatives for employees who are registered for campus parking and may be affected by the scheduled lot closures:

• Howard Center Lot - 2235 8th St., NW
  • Located across from the Howard University Barnes & Noble Bookstore
• Annex I Lot - from 6th and Bryant St. to 4th and Bryant St., NW
  • The private driveway in front of WHUR, WHUT, and the School of Communications o Banneker South Lot - 2345 Sherman Ave., NW
• Located behind Trellis House, across from Howard Plaza Towers East Residence Hall
  • The north end of the lot will not be available for parking, as it will be designated for the overflow of project equipment and materials.
  • The south end of the lot will be reserved for parking by permit and the staging of the University’s shuttle buses.
