As a reminder, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan corridor and parts of Northern Virginia through Saturday, January 29, 2022.  Updated forecasting estimates 1 to 3 inches of snowfall and freezing rain for the region during this inclement weather event.

The University has not changed its operating status for today, January 28, 2022, and does not anticipate an operational change.

Weekend operations at the University will maintain their normal schedules but will be subject to continual forecast monitoring and updates, as necessary, to ensure the safety of students and employees.

Researchers should complete or properly save any experiments planned for work tomorrow. As local power outages are also possible, employees should save any unsaved documentation. You are also asked to power down or unplug any sensitive or key equipment or any other devices that may be impacted by a surge in power.

Please move throughout the campus community and region with an abundance of caution over the next 24 hours.
