As the region manages today's winter weather event, Howard University will open and operate under normal status. Projections for icy morning conditions throughout the Washington metropolitan area have remained stable since our campus weather advisory was issued yesterday, and forecasts continue to suggest clearer weather from mid-morning to early afternoon. 

Our team members from Physical Facilities Management, Public Safety, and partnering vendors remain mobilized to mitigate any hazardous changes in roadways and walkways within campus grounds. We continue to encourage all community members commuting to and from the campus to exercise caution in travel and environmental awareness. 

Please be mindful of delays published in local traffic reports and mass transit schedules. We also empower managers and supervisors to exercise flexibility for employees who may need to accommodate schedule changes enacted by local school systems.
