Howard University has updated its operational status for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, to REMOTE OPERATIONS AND VIRTUAL LEARNING.  

Operational Details for Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Operations:  

• Essential Employees: Only essential personnel are expected to report to campus. If further clarification is needed, please contact your supervisor.
• Remote Work: All employees who can work remotely are expected to do so. Those who are unable to work remotely should contact their supervisors for direction. 
• Building Access: Some campus buildings will be secured and locked. Essential employees and researchers needing help accessing buildings should contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at (202) 806-1100. 

Instruction: 

• *All classes as applicable: VIRTUAL/REMOTE at their normally scheduled times.
  *Note that students and employees in the School of Law, College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, and their clinics should follow the policies set by their departments.

 Health Services: 

• Howard University Hospital: OPEN
• Faculty Practice Plan- In-Person: CLOSED; Telehealth: AVAILABLE for College of Medicine only.
• Student Health Center: CLOSED
• College of Dentistry Clinics: CLOSED for routine patient care. Emergency patient care only will be provided at the College of Dentistry Hospital Dental Clinic.

University Libraries: 

• Founders Library: CLOSED
• Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library: CLOSED
• Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Law Library: CLOSED
• Wayne A. I. Frederick Undergraduate Library: CLOSED
