The Office of Human Resources is committed to every employee having the best resources to build a culture of wellness at work and beyond our campus borders. Our University-wide commemoration of Mental Health Awareness Month kicked off on May 9 with an uplifting conversation with author, actor, and philanthropist Holly Robinson-Peete, hosted by executive vice president and chief operating officer Tashni Dubroy and presented by our healthcare partner Cigna.
Cigna rounds out the month-long awareness campaign with the debut of the ‘A Healthier Howard’ digital newsletter. It is designed to provide all faculty and staff members with helpful reminders of your wellbeing and the journey to optimal health of mind, body and spirit.
This month's edition provides mental health monitoring strategies and a chance to learn about the common physical changes that may be indicators of mental strain or illness. We also explore strategies to cope with grief and loss. What you eat, how you work and leaning into community are big steps in dealing with the natural process of loss and mourning.
Howard Health Coach Chinwe Igwe is your monthly guide to healthy best practices, powered by Cigna! For more information, contact her at 202-480-0274.
