December 5th Winter Weather Advisory: Normal Operations

  • Published Date:

Howard University will have Normal operations on Friday, December 5th.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in the Washington-Metropolitan corridor and parts of Northern Virginia, effective until 4:00 p.m. due to below-freezing temperatures.

Snow is expected to end by noon. As the system moves through the area, we ask that the campus community prepare accordingly. Travel to and away from campus may be compromised by slippery road conditions. Please use caution while traveling around campus.

What to Expect:

  • Mixed precipitation, including snow and potential freezing drizzle in the afternoon.
  • Ice accumulation from a light coating up to 1.0 inches.

Important Reminders for Researchers and Staff:

  • Complete or save any experiments planned for tomorrow.
  • Save all unsaved documents in case of power outages.
  • Power down or unplug sensitive equipment to protect against power surges.

We will monitor the situation and share updates regarding any operational or schedule changes. Stay Bison Safe!
