Howard University will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. The campus will resume regular hours of operation on Monday, July 7. 

Essential Employees: Essential employees must report to campus.

  • Building Access: All campus buildings will be secured and locked. Essential employees needing help accessing buildings should contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at (202) 806-1100. Physical Facilities Management will be available for urgent matters at (202)-806-1000.
  • The College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, and clinics should follow the policy set by their department.
  • Researchers will continue to have access to research facilities. However, researchers must be aware that parking restrictions will be in place, and some parking lots will be closed.
