WHUT to Broadcast Second Live 2016 Election Special

WASHINGTON (June 20, 2016) – WHUT further examines issues surrounding this year’s presidential race, in its second live special, "Election 2016:  The Roads to Conventions," at 8:30 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, June 23.

This one-hour program will broadcast on-air and online and closely examine candidates, campaigns, and concerns facing voters--including the economy, terrorism and candidate credibility--as well as explain the vital importance of the Democratic and Republican conventions to the electorate.   

WHUR 96.3 FM'sMo Ivory of “Afternoons with Tony, Mo & George” will host the lively roundtable discussion.  Panelists include: Deana Bass, principle and managing partner of Bass Public Affairs and former national press secretary for former U.S. presidential candidate Ben Carson; Gregory Carr, Ph.D., Howard University professor and chair, Afro-American Studies Department; and Steve Phillips, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and author of the New York Times bestseller, "Brown Is the New White: How a Demographic Revolution Has Created a New American Majority."  The program is produced by Howard University Department of Media, Journalism and Film Assistant Professor Jennifer C. Thomas, a veteran broadcast journalist and former CNN executive producer.
