WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 23, 2018) – Keith Sweat, the R&B legend who has sold more than 25 million records and is known for his hit songs, “Make It Last Forever,” “Nobody,” and “Twisted,” will head up the 2018 Howard Homecoming Parade as Grand Marshal. The parade will take place Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m., on and around Howard University’s main campus in Northwest Washington.
Saturday’s parade starts at Sixth Street and Howard Place. It will travel south along Georgia Avenue and north along Fourth Street, passing the LeDroit Park neighborhood, and concluding near the reservoir. Parade attendees are encouraged to sport Howard colors and attend the parade as a prelude to the Homecoming football game against the South Carolina State Bulldogs in one of the signature games of this football season.
Sweat, for the past several years has hosted his own radio show, “The Sweat Hotel” which airs Sundays through Fridays from 7 p.m. to midnight in all time zones, in addition to iHeartRadio. The Sweat Hotel is the #1 nationally-syndicated Urban AC nighttime radio show. Nationally syndicated by Premiere Networks, the program can be heard on more than 60 stations by 3 million weekly listeners. The R&B legend will release his 13th studio album Playing For Keeps on Oct. 26. The 13-track album has features from the industry’s best including Akon, Teddy Riley and Tank as well as newcomers Candace Price and Ray Fade. Additionally, the album includes his hit single “How Many Ways” feat. K-Ci, which reached #5 on Urban AC radio and has over 4 million streams, as well as his new single “Boomerang” feat. Candace Price.
Sweat also recently completed his second Las Vegas residency to rave reviews at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Widely recognized as one of the Godfathers of R&B, he has sold more than 25 million records to date and has five #1 albums. In addition to his nightly radio show, Sweat continues to tour and perform on stages across the U.S.
