WASHINGTON – JP Morgan Chase took over the Yard from noon to 3 p.m. today with their #BacktotheYard event. The awaited event brought financial literacy and investment knowledge by way of music, food, and games.

This event is a product of the longstanding relationship with Howard University. The financial services company hires top talent from the University each year into its competitive, highly selective summer internship and full-time programs.

Host and journalist, Jamila Mustafa, took to the main stage to challenge students to think about their financial choices while balling on a budget or climbing the corporate ladder. Students partook in a multitude of classic games, including giant Jinga, cornhole, and Connect Four, to earn blue B2TY bucks to cash in at Swag Store for Back to the Yard themed merchandise.

In the Octogon Lounge, Chase shared some gems to improve their resume, custom career tools, and a direct opportunity to apply for roles at Chase. Free professional headshots were available at the headshot station.

“I did a one-on-one interview with one of the Chase employees. That was a really good opportunity for me to practice how to navigate an interview.” – Briana Artis, freshman film major from Philadelphia, PA.
