Howard University Students Named 2025 NVLF Leadership Fellows for Outstanding Service and Leadership

NVLF Winners 2025

Howard University is proud to announce that two of its outstanding students, Marcedi Phillips and Morgan Scott, have been selected as 2025 Leadership Fellows by the National Veterans Leadership Foundation (NVLF). This prestigious national fellowship honors military-connected students who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential, a passion for service, and a commitment to supporting their communities.

Phillips, a political science major and Army military dependent, and Scott, a business administration major and Air Force military dependent, stood out among candidates from across the country. Their selection highlights Howard’s continued legacy of nurturing leaders who excel both academically and civically.

As NVLF Fellows, Phillips and Scott will participate in an intensive leadership development program aimed at enhancing their abilities to advocate for and uplift the military-connected community on campus and beyond. They join a cohort of top students from more than 20 institutions nationwide, representing a variety of academic disciplines vital to future innovation and service.

“The NVLF Leadership Fellowship is a significant recognition of the dedication and resilience of military-connected students like Marcedi and Morgan,” said James Miller, president and founder of NVLF. “Their commitment to service and leadership reflects the very best of what Howard University represents.”

Howard continues to be a strong advocate for military-connected students, providing resources and support to ensure their success in higher education and their professional careers. The achievements of Phillips and Scott demonstrate the strength of the university’s mission to produce leaders who are dedicated to positive change.
