Washington, D.C. (July 13, 2016) Howard University took to the digital world today to release Blueprint - the theme for its homecoming celebration this fall. The homecoming social media platforms initiated the web drop with the release of a short video which highlighted some of the university’s fondest past homecoming memories. For 150 years Howard University has created a foundation from which we have built upon,” read the caption. Blueprint speaks to Howard’s history of creating the homecoming prototype for other universities to follow.

This year’s schedule of events will feature various entertainment elements that cater to alumni and current student community while promoting health, wellness and academic excellence. We will also include our traditional Homecoming events, such as the Homecoming Tailgate, the Greek Step Show, the International Yardfest, the Gospel Concert, and our second annual Presidential Soiree. The Homecoming football game will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2016. The Bison will be hosting The Aggies of North Carolina A&T University.

Through active engagement of students and alumni, Blueprint aims to instill pride in all members of the Howard University family while creating an experience reminiscent of the memories of our Homecoming traditions. Blueprint: Recognizing the Past, Celebrating the Present, Embracing the Future.”
