WASHINGTON – President Wayne A. I. Frederick, the Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel, and the Howard University community will host a Prayer Vigil for Haiti on Thursday, August 19 at 12 p.m. EDT. The prayer vigil will be a time of prayer, reflection, and strategy about the earthquake that hit Haiti last Saturday and the aftermath since.
“The tragic news of yet another devastating earthquake in Haiti is heartbreaking and hits close to home for the Howard community,” said Frederick. “In support of our Haitian brothers and sisters both here, and abroad, feeling the impact of this devastation, we invite the Howard community to join us as we stand together in solidarity and demonstrate our unwavering support for the Haitian community.”
The Howard community is invited to meet at the flagpole on the main yard. Dean Bernard Richardson will offer prayer and students are invited to express their support. If you have any questions, please contact chapel@howard.edu.
