WASHINGTON — The 2019 Howard University Homecoming Day of Service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 to kick-off the 2019 Howard University Homecoming events with service-learning opportunities throughout Washington, D.C. in the areas of homelessness; community beautification; health; education; elder care; and violence prevention.
“We begin Howard Homecoming each year with the Day of Service as a testament to our commitment to the university tenets of truth and service,” says Rev. Bernard L. Richardson, Ph.D., Dean of the Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel at Howard University. “We encourage all students, faculty, staff, alumni, Bison families and friends to register for a community service initiative and take part in this unique opportunity as we come together to serve and honor the university’s legacy and values.”
