WASHINGTON – The Department of Alumni Relations at Howard University is pleased to announce the results of the Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA) 2020 Officers and Regional Representatives Election. Howard alumnus Charlie Lewis (‘89), who previously served as Region I chair, was elected to serve as the new HUAA president.
“I would like to congratulate the new alumni board. I look forward to working with this administration” said Lewis. “I would also like to thank the entire alumni community for their ongoing commitment to our beloved alma mater and for supporting my campaign to become HUAA president. We are facing novel challenges daily; however, navigating uncertainty and change is nothing new to us Bison. Our collective creativity, resilience and fortitude will sustain us. We will preserve our legacy and leverage our powerful alumni network that will dynamically move Howard forward.”
The members of the new HUAA administration represent the committed Howard alumni network that continues to uphold the University tenets of excellence, leadership, service and truth. HUAA serves as a voice for Howard University alumni, fosters community among the international network, and supports recruitment and annual fundraising efforts.
