HOWARD UNIVERSITY INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE

OPERATIONAL STATUS FOR Wednesday, January 8, 2025: OPEN

Howard University will open at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. 

• The Main Campus and West Campus will open on a delayed schedule for non-essential personnel.
• Essential personnel are expected to report to campus at their regularly scheduled times unless alternative arrangements have been made with their supervisor.
• Travel Considerations: Employees unable to commute due to hazardous road conditions should inform their supervisor. Approval for remote work is subject to supervisory discretion. Employees unable to work remotely should use accrued paid leave.

-Instructional Status:

• All in-person classes scheduled to begin before 10:00 a.m. are suspended.
• In-person classes scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. or later will be held as regularly scheduled.
• Online classes will meet virtually at their regularly scheduled times.

• Open

-Howard University Hospital: 

• Open as normally scheduled
• Howard University Hospital Parking and Transportation: Open

-School of Dentistry and Clinics 

• Open 

-Health Services: 

• Faculty Practice Plan: Open at 8:00 a.m.
• Student Health Center: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

-University Libraries: 

• Founders Library: Open
• Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library: Open
• Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Law Library: Open
• Wayne A. I. Frederick Undergraduate Library: Open

-iLab: 

• Open

-Residence Halls: 

• Open
