OPERATIONAL STATUS FOR MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2025: CLOSED

MLK Day Campus Operations: 

  • Essential Employees: Unless otherwise designated as essential, employees are not required to report to campus for work.
  • Building Access: All campus buildings will be secured and locked. Essential employees needing help accessing buildings should contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Researchers will continue to have access to research facilities. However, researchers must be aware that parking restrictions will be in place. Some parking lots will be closed.

Instruction:

  • All in-person and online classes are canceled. 

Health Services:

  • Howard University Hospital: Open
  • Faculty Practice Plan: Closed
  • Student Health Center: Closed 

University Libraries:

  • Founders Library: Closed
  • Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library: Closed
  • Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Law Library: Closed
  • Wayne A. I. Frederick Undergraduate Library: Closed 

Dining: 

  • Bethune Annex Cafeteria: Open from 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • The Market at Bethune Annex: Open from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • The Market at Towers West: Open from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Blackburn Cafeteria: Closed
  • West Campus Dining Room: Closed

 Other Services:

  • Graphics and Printing Services: Closed
  • Main Bookstore: Open from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Howard University Law School Bookstore: Open from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • iLab and ETS Help Desk: Closed
  • Mail Services: Closed
  • Shuttle Services: No Service
  • DPS will maintain continuous safety and security coverage.
  • The Office of Residence Life: Open as Normal
  • WHUR-FM and WHUT-TV: Open as Normal

Parking:

Parking: Closed, except for select lots, which will remain open for special events and staff. Please note that cars parked in closed lots will be ticketed and towed.
