Biography
Sarah Bolarinwa hails from East Greenbush, New York. She is a biology major, with a double minor in chemistry and Afro-American studies. She is interested in neuroscience and neurogenetics with a sociology, anthropology, and public health perspectives. She intends to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience/neurogenetics. Her future research goals include studying the neurological effects of trauma stemming from racism among people of color. Bolarinwa chose to further her intellectual and academic development at Howard University to be amongst bright and forward-thinking peers. Sarah hopes to discover more about herself and the world around her through the more decolonized educational experience that Howard will provide. She is enthusiastic about the opportunity to pursue a STEM career in an environment that will provide her with the resources necessary to join the ranks of scientists whose work has had a positive impact on the lives of our society’s most vulnerable populations.
