Biography
Peja James is a Chemistry student with a minor in Psychology from Sacramento, California. She plans to pursue an M.D./Ph.D to fulfill her goal of researching substance abuse and prison rehabilitation in minority communities. James has always been heavily interested in scientific and research-based classes. Her ambition and background in STEM help motivate her to use her skills to bring awareness to the disadvantaged and equip them with the assets necessary for self-sufficiency in modern-day society. She chose Howard University to fulfill her academic aspirations and be immersed in a culture filled with lifelong traditions and black excellence. The cultural awareness, student diversity, unity, and countless networking opportunities the campus provided were just some of the remarkable aspects she liked. James strives to be a part of the notable impact that Howard alumni possess and use her scientific successes to improve the quality of life in underprivileged communities.
