Biography

Oluwagbemisoke Soneye is a freshman at Howard University from Sacramento, California. She is currently pursuing a biology major and double minoring in chemistry and psychology. Soneye's career interest is to obtain an MD-Ph D, specializing in epidemiology, public health, and psychiatry. As a future doctor, her passion lies not only in prescribing and administering life-saving treatments but also in contributing to the advancement and formulation of treatments through conducting meaningful research. Through her career, she also hopes to address and work toward eradicating the racial and ethnic biases that are prevalent in medicine. Beyond academics, Soneye also has a passion for community service, as she firmly believes that serving the surrounding community is not only a way to give back but also an opportunity for personal growth. She plans to elevate the livelihoods of her future patients and make a difference in medicine.
