Biography
Nyla Adon is a chemistry major from Bowie, Maryland, who is minoring in biology. She aspires to obtain an MD-Ph.D to study hematology, with a focus on cancer research. After receiving her M.D-Ph.D, she desires to travel the world, conduct medical research, and treating patients around the globe. Her passion for science and culture encourages her to push forward to make an impact in global health care. As an African American woman, she felt that Howard University and the Karsh STEM Scholars program would provide a number of resources and opportunities curated for the advancement of Black people in STEM, which would hold off barriers that could hinder her goals as a future medical professional.
