Biography
Robert Russum Jr is a chemical engineering major and German minor from San Antonio, Texas. Growing up as a military brat, he has experienced many different places and cultures around the US and Europe, cultivating his conscientiousness towards people and their struggles. He chose Howard University because it gave him the unique opportunity to develop himself professionally, academically, and socially while also building invaluable connections. Robert’s goal is to become an impactful leader in research by attaining his PhD. He will use his degree to serve underprivileged communities by combating the bias that is so prevalent in research and doing everything in his power to inspire the next generation of African Americans to empower them to pursue whatever career they choose.
