Biography
Amerie Jackson is a Biology student double minoring in Chemistry and Environmental Studies, from Miami, Florida. She chose to attend Howard University because of the necessary opportunities that would lead to limitless growth, not only academically but socially as she navigates her pathway to receiving her MD/Ph.D. Amerie’s career interest is to pursue an MD/Ph.D in medical anthropology as it combines the study of people, culture, and medicine. Coming from an under-served community in Miami, medical anthropology is an important field of study for her, as she hopes to find sustainable ways to implement medical resources and effective medical programs to support underrepresented and underprivileged communities. Amerie wants to go abroad and come back and pour into her South Florida community.
