Biography
Mason Howard is a computer science student from Gretna, Louisiana with interests in machine learning, 3D rendering, software development, and video game development. Howard plans to pursue a PhD in computer science and discover the intersections between computer science and other STEM fields, such as quantum computing and simulating evolution through machine learning. They came to Howard to form rich connections with people of a shared background and to surround themselves with Black students who aspire to take their education to the next level, as is offered by Howard University’s Karsh Stem Scholars Program. Howard chose STEM for the challenges it offers, as well as for its broad reach across many disciplines. As a black, neurodivergent, nonbinary person, Howard wishes to pave the way for people like them in STEM fields and in achieving doctoral degrees.
