Biography
Chase Easley is a Mechanical Engineering major with a Mathematics and Biology double minor from Schaumburg, Illinois. He aspires to obtain a Ph.D. and utilize his interdisciplinary knowledge to conduct research on the use of biomimetics to solve complex problems. Chase chose to attend Howard University as a member of the Karsh STEM Scholars Program to be educated in a supportive competitive environment where black excellence is celebrated and not tolerated. He wants to follow in the footsteps of other family members who have successfully graduated from other prestigious HBCUs. Easley hopes to use his passion for STEM to encourage more engagement from diverse students in this discipline and specifically, be a positive role model for African American men. He is also the Co-founder of Socks In Boots, a community service non-profit (501c3) and serves on the executive board of several organizations at Howard University.
