Biography
Dr. Ginette Okoye is a professor of dermatology and chair of the dermatology department at Howard University College of Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her residency at Yale University, where she served as chief resident.
Clinically and in her research, Dr. Okoye’s area of expertise is in treating skin disorders that disproportionately affect people of color. She has been recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) with a Presidential Citation and a Volunteerism Award. In March 2021, the AAD named Dr. Okoye a Patient Care Hero for her work in establishing community testing sites in underserved communities. Dr. Okoye and her team also launched the employee testing program at Howard University.
