Biography
Mr. Chris Washington (BA '92) is an independent marketing consultant, working primarily in the entertainment industry. He has developed social media and marketing initiatives for major artists and entertainment businesses to build brand loyalty. He has also managed and mentored more than 150 college students who are social media influencers. He also works as a professional DJ known as The Legendary Chris Washington and has previously served as the master mixer on New York City's WBLS-FM radio station. He is a past president of the Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA), overseeing a 29% increase in membership. In 2011, he was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (M.E.A.C.) Distinguished Alumni Award Winner for Howard University. In April 2013, the Bronx Chapter of the NAACP honored him with a Community Leader Award. Mr. Washington graduated from Howard University School of Communications in 1992 with a degree in broadcast journalism. An avid supporter of Howard University athletics, he is the current Head Coach of Varsity Basketball and Varsity Soccer at the La Salle Academy in New York City, as well the school's Assistant Athletics Director and Director of Academic Support. He has been a board member since 2019 and currently serves on the board's student life and development and alumni relations committees.
