Biography
Mr. Bruce E. Thompson, a member since 2022, is president of Hospitality Development Company Group, a hotel ownership, development and management group with properties in the Washington, DC metro area. Mr. Thompson is a seasoned executive and board member with extensive experience in public and private companies as well as the non-profit sector. His broad background includes responsibility for the successful separation of a $14 billion firm into two publicly-traded companies, and leadership of a 20,000-member non-profit professional association in achieving record financial and operational results. He has served in senior finance roles for major corporations, including Ford, Johnson Controls, Alcoa and Arconic. A longtime sponsor and fundraiser for programs benefitting University students, Mr. Thompson graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Economics from Howard, having spent his junior year at The London School of Economics and Political Science as a Luard Scholar. He also holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
