Biography
Alexis Davis is a computer science major and mathematics minor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She plans to pursue a PhD in computer science and study artificial intelligence and machine learning. Her primary interest lies in the intersection of human-computer interaction, particularly in the realm of AI. Recognizing the significant growth of technology towards artificial intelligence, she is motivated to actively contribute to shaping its trajectory. Alexis believes it is crucial to have diverse voices influencing decisions on how AI is developed, utilized, and regulated. She chose Howard University both for its rich history and its opportunities to work and network with like-minded people of color interested in research and technology. She plans to nourish her passion for women’s empowerment throughout her undergraduate experience at Howard University. She looks forward to continuing to grow as a researcher and as an individual through the Karsh STEM Scholars Program.
