WASHINGTON – Consultancy firm LMI announces its enhanced partnership with Howard University, which will bring research funding, mentoring, and client engagements to Howard University and, for LMI, expanded participation in groundbreaking academic research for its clients.

“As a research university and leader in STEM fields, Howard University is an exceptional academic institution. LMI is very pleased to expand our long-term partnership between Howard University and our LMI Research Institute,” stated Doug Wagoner, LMI president and CEO.

The LMI Research Institute incorporates cutting-edge ideas and research endeavors from leading universities, such as Howard University, with LMI’s own innovative programs to benefit U.S. government clients.

“Howard University appreciates LMI’s 15-year commitment to the university and looks forward to strengthening this relationship now and into the future,” stated Howard University President Dr. Wayne Frederick.

Since 2005, LMI has sponsored Howard University’s MBA Program Minority Case Competition, where participants showcase their business analytical skills, obtain experience pitching their ideas, and win prizes of up to $11,000. The next Minority Case Competition will take place in the fall of 2021.

The National Science Foundation ranks Howard University as the top producer of African American undergraduates who later earn science and engineering doctoral degrees. U.S. News and World Reports lists Howard second among the Best Historically Black Colleges and Universities for 2021.
