JPMorgan Chase & Co. Supports Howard’s Strategic Plan Through Technology Partnership

WASHINGTON — Howard University recently announced a partnership with the JPMorgan Chase & Co. Force for Good program to support the implementation of the “Howard Forward 2024” strategic plan, a visionary blueprint for the institution’s next five years. As a participant of the Force for Good program, Howard University received technical support from a team of the firm’s highly-skilled, computer programmers to design a dashboard solution that improves access to University data and analytics.

“Having the philanthropic and technical support of JPMorgan Chase has added immense value to the implementation of our bold, Howard Forward strategic plan,” says Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Howard University, Tashni-Ann Dubroy, Ph.D. “On behalf of Howard University’s students, faculty and staff who worked diligently to develop the strategic plan, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with JPMorgan Chase as we work to improve our efficiency and effectiveness through critical investments in technology.”

The goal of the project was to implement a technology solution that supports the analysis of University data, making it easier to track and understand. The team of experts from JPMorgan Chase & Co. provided an in-depth review of the existing strategic planning data model to unveil insights and inspire the University to make more impactful decisions and programming. The project resulted in the development of a data analytics dashboard that will play a significant role in accreditation and tracking the University’s progress toward its goals.

“The support we received from technical experts to build the dashboard is invaluable,” says Shomari Jamesexecutive director of strategy in the Office of the Provost. “JPMorgan Chase provided us with a very skilled team that helped us strategize and put their technical skills to work to develop a customized system that empowers us to tell the Howard Forward story.”

Force for Good launched in 2012 as an eight-month-long initiative to support nonprofits with technology. Through the program, JPMorgan Chase & Co. employees have the opportunity to use their unique skills, and develop new skills, while giving back.
