WASHINGTON (May 16, 2019) – Howard University Senior Counsel Lisa Jones Gentry was recently named to the DCA Live 2019 “Top Corporate Counsel” list, a distinction awarded to top officers in the city’s legal departments.

DCA Live said this year’s individual honorees represented a diverse group of industries and had made significant contributions to the growth of their respective institutions. Gentry and other honorees will be honored at a dinner on May 21.

Gentry is currently the senior counsel for business transaction and technology Gentry in the Office of General Counsel at Howard University. She has more than 20 years experience in media, technology and sophisticated corporate transactions, including hospitality and real estate finance.

Gentry is an honors graduate of Harvard College and of the Harvard Law School. She was appointed by the Mayor of Washington, D.C. as a commissioner on the Technology, Innovation and Inclusion Commission. She is a frequent speaker in the areas of technology and media and was a recognized “Change Maker” in 2016 by the White House at the United States of Women awards.
