WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 8, 2025) — In response to growing interest from students, alumni, and the broader HBCU community, Howard University today announced that the Bison’s regular-season finale against Norfolk State University Saturday, Nov. 22 has been moved from Greene Stadium to Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, and the game — presented by AT&T — will air live on ESPN+.
This will be the second time the Bison will play at Audi Field this season, the first being a dominant 34-7 win over Hampton University Sept. 20 in the 2025 Truth and Service Classic. The stadium has quickly become a proud home for HBCU football in the nation’s capital, hosting the Truth and Service Classic for the past five years. This contest marks Norfolk State’s first appearance at Audi Field and Howard’s sixth all-time game at the venue.
“The response to this matchup has been extraordinary,” said Kery Davis, Howard University vice president of athletics. “Moving to Audi Field allows more Bison and HBCU fans to experience this game together — on a big stage, with a national broadcast, and the energy our student-athletes deserve.”
Head Coach Larry Scott leads the Bison, currently 3-2 coming off a bye last week, against a revitalized Spartans program under first-year Head Coach Michael Vick, the Newport News, Va. native, and four-time NFL Pro Bowler. The Spartans are 1-5 after last week’s hard-fought 41-34 loss to Hampton University.
“Playing at Audi Field means a great deal to our players, alumni, and fans,” Scott said. “Our program keeps climbing, and the chance to close the regular season in this environment against a respected opponent led by Coach Vick only elevates the moment.”

A proud member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Howard Football’s storied history includes two Black College National Championships, two CIAA titles, and three MEAC championships, including an undefeated 1993 season. Under Head Coach Larry Scott, the Bison have continued their upward trajectory, highlighted by back-to-back MEAC titles in 2022 and 2023.
In a statement issued by Audi Field, D.C. United President of Business Operations Danita Johnson shared the organization’s enthusiasm over hosting the game.
“We’re excited to see Howard University Football back for a second game this year and to welcome Norfolk State University to Audi Field for the first time in what promises to be an incredible afternoon of HBCU football,” Johnson said. “These events have become a powerful showcase of culture, tradition, and community pride, and we’re honored to provide a stage that celebrates HBCU excellence here in the nation’s capital.”
