WASHINGTON – Howard University, the alma mater of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, will host a virtual pre-inauguration celebration on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 9 a.m. ET on WHUT.org and WHUR.com. The campus community and Howard alumni and friends are invited to tune-in from home as we count down to the Biden-Harris Inauguration.
The program will begin with a rebroadcast of the 2017 Commencement Oration by VP-elect Harris, followed by a special surprise sneak peek into some of the Inauguration preparation activities. The program will conclude with a webinar titled, “From the Mecca to the White House: Celebrating the Influence of African American Leadership.” Howard University Dean of the Law School, Danielle Holley-Walker, J.D., will moderate a roundtable conversation with panelists Lisa Crooms-Robinson, J.D., professor, school of law, Keneisha Grant, Ph.D.,associate professor, department of political science and Elsie L Scott, Ph.D., director, Ronald W. Walters Leadership and Public Policy Center.
Immediately following the webinar, the presentation will turn to the PBS broadcast of the Biden-Harris Inauguration.
