WHAT:
Howard University will officially welcome a high achieving class of incoming first-year students for the annual Move-In celebration. The incoming class includes students with academic interests in the areas of biology, political science, nursing, and health sciences. Selected among a competitive pool of more than 36,000 applicants, the newest Bison, including more than 200 students who earned a 4.0 GPA, will mark the beginning of their Howard experience and the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
The annual Move-In Media Day reflects the institution's enduring commitment to excellence in truth and service. As the nation's leading historically Black research university and a global leader in educating future changemakers, Howard prepares students to lead in every sector of society. The incoming students will join a legacy of scholars, innovators, public servants, and cultural trailblazers as they are welcomed by faculty, staff, alumni, and current students whose service embodies the University's culture of leadership, mentorship, and community.
Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick, M.D., MBA, interim president, president emeritus, and Charles R. Drew Professor of Surgery, along with faculty, staff, and campus organizations, will greet new Bison and assist with unloading vehicles, checking into residence halls, and helping students settle into their new home.

PARKING: Parking for news trucks is permitted in designated public parking zones. For more information on parking or street closures, visit Campus Parking | Office of Auxiliary Enterprises. All parking requests should be submitted to mediarelations@howard.edu
