Howard School of Business Hosts 24th Annual MBA Exclusive Conference and Case Competition

WASHINGTON – The Howard University School of Business will host the 24th annual MBA Exclusive Conference (MBAX) on Oct. 17 – 18 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Silver Spring, Maryland. The two-day conference brings young professionals together for developmental workshops and talks with influential speakers across industries. The conference is designed to promote professional development and career opportunities for students of color.

“The MBA Exclusive Conference is one of our long-standing School of Business events,” said Barron H. Harvey, dean of the School of Business. “The conference provides MBA students an opportunity to gain training and exposure in a setting that is tailored specifically for them. We are grateful to the faculty, staff and students in the MBA Program who organize this conference each year.”

The MBA Program hosts the annual conference which is coordinated entirely by the MBA student body. The theme of this year’s conference is “Illuminate” and will feature workshops, keynote speakers, a career fair with leading companies looking to hire diverse talent, and the 15th Annual Minority Case Competition, sponsored by LMI.

“We are extremely proud of the students this year for bringing together such an outstanding lineup of speakers and training opportunities,” said Verna K. Supel, director of MBA Graduate Programs. “The Annual Minority Case Competition is an especially great opportunity for students to showcase their business analytical skills, get experience pitching their ideas, and win a prize of up to $11,000.”

Students who participate will have access to outstanding networking activities, internships, and permanent career opportunities. MBAX is supported by several corporate sponsors that gain access to the exceptional pool of MBA talent the conference provides. The conference gives students an opportunity to meet with representatives from companies like the National Football League (NFL), Vanguard, Intel, Fiat-Chrysler, and AutoDesk.

The conference activities, including the networking sessions, workshops and career fair, are free for all students. The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel – Silver Spring is located at 8727 Colesville Rd.
