Federal Work Study COVID-19 Update

Dear Work Study Students and Supervisors,

As Howard University is transitioning to online classes and remote working for a number of employees. We are also encouraging Federal Work-Study positions to continue remotely.  Per the Department of Education, if students are unable to work because of a change with the school’s shift to distance education, the student may still get paid for their scheduled hours for work.

In either circumstance, students must continue to enter their worked/scheduled hours in Peoplesoft and submit a time and attendance sheet for their supervisors to sign.  To enter hours in Peoplesoft, you will need to sign in through the secure network: https://secure.howard.edu/dana-na/auth/url_5/welcome.cgi

Supervisors will continue to upload timesheets to the appropriate FWS Timesheets OneDrive.  If you are a supervisor/delegate who needs access, please email fws.jobs@howard.edu.

Please continue to use the fillable spring 2020 timesheet. All timesheets should be labeled with the student’s full name and pay period (ex: Oliver Howard_pp8).

Students may continue to be scheduled for up to 20 hours per week and earn wages up to their FWS allocation. The same payroll schedule will remain in effect.

HU departments and community partners, please assess if remote work is possible and relay expectations to your students.

Please email fws.jobs@howard.edu with any questions.

Thank you,

Office of Undergraduate Studies
