Biography
Charles M. Boyd, M.D., MBA, FACS, a member since 2013, is founder and medical director of the Boyd Cosmetic Surgical Institute (Detroit, Ann Arbor and Birmingham, Michigan). Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Boyd is also a diplomate of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Formerly, Dr. Boyd served as an assistant professor in the departments of dermatology and otolaryngology at the University of Michigan and as an associate chief of staff of the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Boyd’s philanthropy includes volunteering with World Medical Missions to perform cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries on children in Kenya through his association with the non-profit organization, Bethany Kids. As an undergraduate student, Dr. Boyd co-founded a scholarship program at Howard to help students in need, which continues to this day. Dr. Boyd received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Harvard University and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Michigan after graduating summa cum laude from Howard University in three years. Dr. Boyd previously served as Howard University Alumni Trustee (2010 - 2013).
