“Wildest Dreams” celebrates the limitless possibilities of a Howard University education and the generations of Bison who have transformed bold dreams into extraordinary realities.   

At The Mecca, dreams are not simply imagined; they are nurtured, challenged, and realized through excellence, discovery, creativity, leadership, truth and service. Homecoming 2026 invites students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends to return to the place where possibility has always been part of our legacy and celebrate all that Howard has been, all that we are, and the wildest dreams still waiting to be realized. 

Howard’s 2026 Homecoming will feature iconic events including:   

• Sunday, Oct. 11: A Call to Chapel featuring Dr. Joshua Mitchell, and the Royal Court Coronation 
• Tuesday, Oct. 13: Bison Madness: A spirit event celebrating the start of the 2026–2027 men’s and women’s basketball seasons 
• Wednesday, Oct. 14: Lavender Reception celebrating Howard’s LGBTQIA+ community 
• Thursday, Oct. 15: Student Fashion Show, and Red, White and Bison Gala to support military members of the Howard family 
• Friday, Oct. 16: Yardfest Day 1, Reunion Welcome Reception, Greek Step Show, Divine Nine Fundraising Brunch 
• Saturday, Oct. 17: Morehouse College Maroon Tigers vs. Howard University Bison, Yardfest Day 2, Fam Fest 
• Sunday, Oct. 18: A Call to Chapel featuring Rev. Dr. Joshua L. Mitchell and Young Alumni Brunch  

The Homecoming 2026 Parade will be postponed this year due to the ongoing construction and associated roadway impacts along Georgia Avenue. This event change was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of parade participants, our students, alumni, faculty, staff, community members, and guests.
